A flipbook is a small book with a series of images. Images can be drawn or printed and vary gradually from one page to the next, in sequence. The illusion of motion is created when the pages of the book are flipped or thumbed through rapidly. The illusion is thought to rely on the phi phenomenon: it's the optical illusion of perceiving continuous motion between separate objects viewed rapidly in succession.

Tweening is the process of creating transitional frames between two key frames in order to show the appearance of movement making the animation look fluid. This technique is also called inbetweening. Key frames are used as the beginning and the ending of the animation. Tweening is an important process in all types of animations, traditional and computer animation.

There are many software packages that allow users to enter data, commands, click some links or push some buttons, that's interactivity. Interactivity is the dialog that occurs between a human being and a computer program: games, spreadsheets, word processors, a web browser are examples of interactive programs.

Vectorian Giotto and Flash reach the highest level of interactivity when Action Script is used. Action Script is similar to Javascript with its syntax and funcionality. It's an object-oriented scripting and programming language and allows for rich content to be developed and placed on websites as embedded SWF files.
